Choose an engine for the exact boat model and configuration, rather than horsepower alone. Check maximum power, shaft configuration and mounting requirements, then request confirmation of the complete setup.
Limits for the models in the catalogue
| Boat | Maximum power | Shaft |
|---|---|---|
| Alphaboat K350 | 6 metric hp (CP) | Short |
| Alphaboat K380 | 15 metric hp (CP) | Short or long, depending on configuration |
| Alphaboat GB360 | 8 metric hp (CP) | Short |
| Alphaboat C445 | 30 metric hp (CP) | Short or long, depending on configuration |
| Alphaboat C445 Pro | 30 metric hp (CP) | Long |
| Alphaboat A530 | 60 metric hp (CP) | Long |
| Alphaboat M580 | 115 metric hp (CP) | Long |
For the standard K380 and C445, “short or long” refers to the boat configurations available. Select the appropriate version; do not assume that the same transom accepts every shaft length.
Maximum power is only one criterion
A 15 metric hp engine is not appropriate for every boat around 3.5–3.8 m long. Within this group, the K350 limit is 6 metric hp (CP), the GB360 limit is 8 and the K380 limit is 15. Neither boat length nor the engine range name replaces checking the exact model specification.
Two engines with the same power can have different shaft lengths, masses, controls and equipment. Compare the full model code rather than just the brand and power rating.
Confirm the configuration and installation
Provide the boat model and any configuration selected in the catalogue. If you already own an engine, provide its full code and identification plate details. Ask for the shaft, engine mass, controls, starting system and required installation components to be checked.
For example, the standard C445 offers short and long shaft configurations, while the C445 Pro is listed with a long shaft configuration. Both have a 30 metric hp (CP) limit, but this shared figure does not make the configurations identical.
What the offer should identify
- The exact boat and transom configuration.
- The full engine code, power and shaft.
- Control and starting systems, together with the components included.
- Items needed separately: depending on the configuration, controls, a battery, fuel equipment or mounting accessories.
- Confirmation of the mounting arrangement and delivery conditions for the setup.
Hull mass is not the total transport mass. Add the engine, fuel, battery and accessories when checking the trailer and handling arrangements.
Start with the details you already have
