Start with your crew and intended outings, then check the layout, engine limits and transport arrangements. Length is useful, but it does not describe a boat’s capacity or included equipment on its own.
1. Decide who and what will be on board
List your usual crew and equipment, including fishing tackle, bags, batteries, fuel tank and accessories. Check both the maximum person capacity and the load limit in the model specifications and boat documents. Assess the two limits together.
For example, the K350 is listed for 2 people, the K380 for 3, and the GB360 and C445 for 4. Do not infer person capacity from length alone: the GB360 is 3.6 m long with a stated capacity of 4 people, while the K380 is 3.8 m long with capacity for 3.
2. Compare dimensions and interior layout
Consider length and beam together with the benches, floor, storage and working area. The K350, K380, GB360 and C445 are listed as open boats. On the C445, moving to the Pro adds an aluminium floor with marine vinyl and centre bench storage; capacity and external dimensions stay the same.
For other layouts, examine the Alphaboat A530, with a windscreen and capacity for 6 people, or the Alphaboat M580, with capacity for 7 people, a livewell and rod compartments. The equipment list, rather than the photograph alone, tells you what is included.
3. Match the engine to the exact configuration
Maximum engine power is a limit, not a requirement to buy the most powerful engine. The K350 limit is 6 metric hp (CP), the GB360 limit is 8, the K380 limit is 15, and both C445 versions have a limit of 30. Check the outboard shaft and transom configuration separately.
If you already own an engine, provide its full model code and identification plate details. The standard K380 and C445 offer shaft configurations; check which boat configuration you are ordering.
4. Plan transport for the equipped boat
Hull mass is the starting point. Add the engine, battery, fuel and transported equipment before checking trailer suitability. For storage and access, consider the dimensions of the whole setup rather than hull length alone.
As reference points, the K350 hull is 68 kg, the C445 hull is 130 kg and the C445 Pro hull is 170 kg. Choose the trailer for the complete configuration, including how the hull fits and is supported.
5. Compare offers with equivalent equipment
Request a list identifying the boat and configuration, engine, controls, battery where needed, accessories and transport. Separate included and optional equipment. If you want to reuse equipment you own, request a compatibility check instead of assuming it fits.
